Patrick has a natural gift for story-telling and it is from his stories, accumulated over a lifetime, that he draws his creative inspiration. Whimsical, observant and dramatic - Patrick's work spans a wide range of emotions.
Some of these stories are about the sculptures themselves and others are about the historical and cultural background to the African motifs that features in Patrick's work.

Ndonda
One of the younger characters in the Named Elephant collection, from the jungles of the Zambezi floodplain in Mozambique.
Ndonda is a young male who lives in Mozambique. Born with long limbs and a swinging trunk Ndonda is a determined member of the family who gets better looking as he grows up. He currently lives in the Gorongoza National Park.
